We had originally planned to show a step by step demo of the front page painting in my Watercolor Magazine article (see last weeks post). It was decided to show a greater variety of artwork instead, so I thought I'd share it with you here.
I read the article and it was exciting and stimulating. I also like your layer by layer approach and use of complimentry color on top of underpaint color.Do you use the same way in your transparent watercolor? I'll see you in person on May,July and September workshops. Thanks for sharing. You're so generous.
Hi Nathan, im a beginner self-learner in watercolour so this process looks very fascinating to me but also slightly confusing.i had a query, how did you implimented lighter shade over darker shade while maintianing sharp lighting
When I first opened up this blog entry I only saw a blank, tan sheet of paper. For a split second I thought "Nathan's always busting his tail working hard, noway he'd do this." Then I scrolled down. Interesting how wrong first impressions can be.
I picked up my very first copy of "watercolor" magazine a couple weeks ago... and have been mesmerized by your portraits ever since. Very pleased to have found your blog on the internet so I could see the full range of your work. You are amazingly gifted...and sharing it with everyone...thank you so much. If I weren't so far away...here on the East Coast...I sure would try to attend any one of your classes. I'll just have to read your blog and glean as much as I can. I do concept art, color and lighting design for animation and entertainment projects, notable clients include DreamWorks, Blue Sky and Disney. It's a great job but everything is painted digitally so I spend my own time painting with traditional mediums. These paintings and sketches are the emphasis my blog, I'll also be posting my digital work where possible as well as classroom demonstrations for the benefit of my art students.
From Student to Professional and Beyond! Monday, June 25, 7-10:00 pm. For any student or professional artist seeking improvement. The presentation will emphasize where and how to focus your efforts as you work toward developing a more professional level of artistic ability. To enroll contact The Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art, (877) MY-LAAFA (695-2232)

Have you noticed ed hardy Clothing that she is spending time with ed hardy sale one person in particular ed hardy and they seemed to come from ed hardy UK nowhere. When you ask how she ed hardy cheap knows them she becomes aloof and ed hardy Clothes disinterested. Is there someone's house ed hardy store she seems to be always going to? This edhardy.com could spell something is wrong with the christian audigier sale relationship. Is she taking trips, possibly day ed hardy dresses trips or small vacations without you? If ed hardy Polos she was doing this before you even ed hardy sandals got married or dated, then it may be okay, but if it is a recent ed hardy Jackets development then you may have problems.
